About Komedia Brighton & Bath
Komedia Brighton
The Complete Works
Brighton’s premier live entertainment venue presents one of the largest, most diverse arts and entertainment programmes in the UK. Every year we put on around 700 performances of comedy, music, cabaret and kids shows, and most nights of the week there are at least two shows to choose from. We’re also home to several of Brighton’s most popular club nights.
All taking place under one roof, Komedia incorporates three exciting, unique performance spaces with flexible set-ups, a kitchen serving freshly prepared food at most seated shows, and a café bar.
Our programme features the very best of international and national performers and includes a unique range of Komedia-grown resident shows such as the Krater Comedy Club, Voodoo Vaudeville, The Treason Show, Comic Boom, Tag Comedy, Old Rope Comedy and Bent Double.
Our street-side Café Bar on Gardner Street is the perfect place to watch the world go by over a Red Roaster coffee and buy yourself some lunch or a snack during the day. In the evening meet your friends for a drink before your show. You can also get information about forthcoming shows and purchase tickets at the counter or pick up a brochure.
Location
Komedia is situated in the North Laine, in the heart of Brighton’s Cultural Quarter. We’re a two minute walk from Brighton’s Royal Pavilion and very close to Brighton Station. Car parking is available 24 hours a day at the NCP North Road and Church Street car parks, both within a two minute walk of Komedia. See Contact Us for location map.

Komedia Bath
Leading arts and entertainment organisation Komedia opened its brand new venue in Bath on Thursday 13 November 2008.
Komedia Bath is the first Komedia-branded venue to launch outside of Brighton, Sussex. Presenting a large and diverse arts and entertainment programme over it’s 14 year history, the south coast venue has featured international and national performers, and also played host to a unique range of Komedia-grown resident shows such as the Krater Comedy Club, Kroon Kat Lounge and Bent Double.
Equally adept at programming top-notch comedy, established and breaking music acts, eye-opening cabaret and brand new theatre throughout the year, Komedia’s devotion to booking the best in live entertainment is evident in recent and upcoming gigs from Duffy, Athlete, British Sea Power, Scouting For Girls, Henry Rollins, Gabriella Cilmi, The Kooks, Arctic Monkeys as well as stand-up from Bill Bailey, Flight of the Conchords, Richard Herring, Russell Howard, Omid Djalili, and Gina Yashere. It has also helped launch the careers of Graham Norton, the League of Gentlemen and The Mighty Boosh. Komedia aims to continue growing this role of honour in the all new Komedia Bath.
Inspired by the European tradition of cabaret theatre where audiences can enjoy a meal while watching a show, Komedia Brighton has won many awards including Best Cultural Destination in the City and the Chortle Award for ‘Best Comedy Venue in the South’ an incredible six times. Komedia is also active on the Edinburgh Fringe, producing venues and promoting its artists and resident shows, and is a producer of broadcast entertainment.
Getting the radio and TV comedy stars who started out with us back on stage at Komedia is always appealing, so having Jenny Éclair and Count Arthur Strong with us for the first Bath Comedy Festival in April is very satisfying. We will also be hosting a new show, in Brighton and Bath, in 2009 called Variety Lives!, which will bring comedy favourites like Arthur Smith, John Cooper Clark, Andy Hamilton and Barb Jungr back to our stage in a monthly variety show.
Location
Komedia Bath is located in the old Beau Nash Cinema on Westgate Street. See Where is it? for a map, train and bus times, and car park information.
