About Komedia Brighton & Bath

Komedia Brighton

The Complete Works

Brighton’s premier live entertainment venue presents one of the largest, most diverse arts and entertainment programmes in the UK. Every year we put on around 700 performances of comedy, music, cabaret and kids shows. We’re also home to several of Brighton’s most popular club nights.

All taking place under one roof, Komedia incorporates two exciting, unique performance spaces with flexible set-ups and a kitchen serving freshly prepared food at most seated shows.

Our programme features the very best of international and national performers and includes a unique range of Komedia-grown resident shows such as the Krater Comedy Club, Comic Boom and Bent Double.

Location

Komedia is situated in the North Laine, in the heart of Brighton’s Cultural Quarter. We’re a two minute walk from Brighton’s Royal Pavilion and very close to Brighton Station. Car parking is available 24 hours a day at the NCP North Road and Church Street car parks, both within a two minute walk of Komedia. See Contact Us for location map.

Komedia Bath

Leading arts and entertainment organisation Komedia opened its second venue in Bath in November 2008 at the old Beau Nash Cinema, in the heart of the city.

Komedia Bath is the first Komedia-branded venue to launch outside of Brighton, Sussex. Presenting a large and diverse arts and entertainment programme, the unique venue has featured international and national performers, and also played host to a unique range of Komedia-grown resident shows such as the Krater Comedy Club, The Noise Next Door’s Comedy Lock In and the Ministry of Burlesque.

Equally adept at programming top-notch comedy, established and breaking music acts, eye-opening cabaret and brand new theatre throughout the year, Komedia’s devotion to booking the best in live entertainment is evident.

Over the years we have welcomed both up-and-coming and well-established bands and musicians including Frank Turner, Benjamin Francis Leftwich, British Sea Power, Noah and the Whale, Henry Rollins, Kate Nash, Dry The River, The Wurzels and Ash, plus stand-up from household names such as Bill Bailey, Steven K Amos, Richard Herring, Russell Howard, Omid Djalili, and Stewart Francis.

Inspired by the European tradition of cabaret theatre where audiences can enjoy a meal while watching a show, Komedia Bath has won many awards including the Chortle Award for ‘Best Comedy Venue in Wales and the West in 2010, 2012 and 2013. Komedia is also active on the Edinburgh Fringe, producing venues and promoting its artists and resident shows, and is a producer of broadcast entertainment.

The Komedia Arts Cafe has also gone from strength to strength, and has been recognised for its commitment to sourcing local produce, winning The Soil Association’s Gold Food for Life catering mark for three years in a row. This year Komedia Arts Cafe was also awarded a Gold Award by Taste of The West in recognition if our commitment to using only the best, locally sourced ingredients.

Location

Komedia Bath is located in the old Beau Nash Cinema on Westgate Street. See Where is it? for a map, train and bus times, and car park information.
