How Do I Get There?

BUS: The closest bus stops to Komedia are North Street and St. Peter’s Church. The venue is a 5 minute walk into the North Laine area from here.

NOTE: There is no on-street parking within the North Laine area. Resident Permits only.

TAXI: Taxis can drop you off outside the venue on Gardner Street. The nearest taxi ranks are: North Street (outside Barclays Bank) New Road (opposite Theatre Royal). TRAIN: Timetable enquiries: 08457 484 950 When you leave the station walk straight ahead along Queens Road, turn second left into North Road, walk down and take the 4^th right into Gardner Street. Approx 7 minutes walk. Last train to London leaves Brighton 23:37, arrives London Victoria 01:09.

Private Functions

As well as being Brighton’s premier live entertainment venue and is also a great place for a wedding reception, that special birthday party or anything else you want to celebrate in style.

Our events team will be pleased to help you create an occasion to remember and our chefs can provide in house catering to suit any event or budget from canapés to a three-course dinner.

Need help with entertainment for the evening? Komedia will be more than happy to assist in finding the right performers for you. Being Brighton’s number one entertainments venue we are able to source a multitude of acts from Cabaret to Comedy.

We have got three exciting performance spaces for you to chose from, suiting events of between 60 and 500 people. All our spaces are air conditioned, fully accessible and our location is just a few minutes walk from Brighton’s Royal Pavilion and Brighton Station. And if you’re guests are coming by car, we can even get you discounted parking rates, which in Brighton is no mean achievement!

Location & Rehearsal Hire

Host to three unique rooms Komedia is the ideal place for a location recording or as a rehearsal space.

We are able to facilitate for TV and film recording, photoshoots, radio recording and cast and crew hospitality.

Companies such as the BBC, Avalon Productions and Channel 4 have all recorded live radio shows and TV pilots at Komedia. Labels such as Island and Ninja Tunes regularly use our music venue as a pre tour production facility.

Recording

As a working arts venue our three performance spaces are able to accommodate for all AV requirements for recording and production. We can provide technical support for both live and staged recording.

Each space comes equipped with the following facilities for use:
- Full PA and onstage monitoring
- Projector and projection screen
- Front of house desk and monitoring
- Stage lighting and lighting desk
- Technical support and guidance

We are also able to offer the facility of live audio recording. Yellowfish a Sussex based mobile recording company are able to deliver on the day recording and production for competitive rates.

Rehearsal Space

Komedia is regularly used as a rehearsal space for pre tour production. We are able to host theatre, music and dance rehearsals throughout the week with full venue facilities including dressing rooms available, plus technical support.

Location hospitality

Located within Brighton’s North Laines we can provide location hospitality for both cast members and production crews. With kitchen facilities and our on street café we can provide catering facilities for any size of travelling production.

Our three spaces can hold anything from 20 – 500 people.
