Music set up

For full music events the foh sound position is set in the main room – in front of the closed raked seating unit (approx. 12metres from the stage).
Music stage is 8m wide and 4m deep and 1metre high.

We have a full range of mics,di boxes, cabling and stands available for use.

Please ensure your technical requirements are sent to Komedia as soon as possible to enable us to facilitate your show.

The foh sound position comprises of the following equipment.

The Upstairs venue comes equipped with;

A full theatrical lighting rig – adapted to suit events.
This includes:

Lighting is operated via a Zero88 Fat Frog 48 channel Lighting Desk.

Please note that the house lights are operated through the lighting desk and require the use of 1 desk channels.

POWER – Komedia has 15 amp LX power, we do not support 16 amp.
STAGE – Maximum 8m wide and 4m deep – we can add another lower row 8m x 5m

Integral to the space is our AV set up – offering remote cameras, DVD, DVCam/Mini DV deck all fed into an Ederol V4 Vision Mixer with onboard effects and displayed via our 4000 lumens projector onto a 2.4m wide by 1.2m deep screen hung at the rear of the stage.. We now have the ability to do Live projection of the event – or to add visual effects as an extra Production tool.

Basement FOH Position

The Basement Venue at Komedia provides the following equipment:

8 Groups and 8 auxiliaries

Please note we have only 24 channels on the stage box.
There are 8 returns – 6 permanently wired for foh sends and aux sends.

Aux 1 – 4 permanently wired for Monitor Mixes.
Aux 5 – 7 permanently wired for Effects Sends.
Aux 8 – Unused.

Staging

The smallest stage is 5m wide by 2m deep. This is a permanent stage.

The maximum stage size is approx. 6m wide by 3m deep and 30cm high.
This is made up with Metrodeck Staging Units added to the above.

Please be aware that the venue has a low ceiling height.
7ft 2inches on stage left, rising to 7ft 9inches on stage right.

Lighting

The Basement Venue comes with a permanently supplied lighting rig.

At present this comprises of:

• 8 * 650w Fresnels – paired
• 3 * 650w Profiles
• 4 * Mini Pars
• 2 * Mac300’s
• Martin Starcloth
• Various Sound-to-Light Disco Lights]

The foh lighting desk is a Zero88 Frog.

AV Equipment

• 2 * 40inch NEC Screens – flown to the sides of FOH Speakers
  Edirol 4 Channel V4 Vision Mixer.
• 2 Sony D70 Remote Cameras and controller DVD Player.

KOMEDIA STUDIO BAR – an intimate and versatile space

The Studio Bar at Komedia is an intimate 80-seated/120 standing small-scale venue.

Staging
The fixed stage is approx 2.5m deep by 4m wide (this can be extended to 3.5m deep by 4m wide) and is fully draped in black wool serge curtains.

Monitors
2 way mix of monitors through a pair of powered Yamaha MSR400 Wedges.

AV Equipment
There is a flown front projection screen hung at the rear of the stage – but we do not supply projector.

Additional Information
All technical equipment is operated from FOH position – approx 4 m from the stage. There are numerous RCD protected double 13amp power sockets at the rear of the stage.

There is the possibility of a piano – although the cost for this is £50 + vat and must be arranged well in advance. We cannot guarantee the use of this piano, as it is owned by the Brighton Jazz Club.

Please note that this venue is primarily an acoustic space – and all users are reminded to be aware of our neighbours with regard to the sound levels. The PA is mainly for augmenting the natural acoustic of the performers.

Any event organiser or performer ignoring our policy of acceptable music levels will be disconnected from the PA immediately and the event will be cancelled at no cost to Komedia.
