Kelston Records presents:
Bard of Bath Summer Solstice Celebration
The Bard of Bath invites you to mark the summer solstice with poetry, stories and a ceilidh on Kelston Roundhill or ‘The Mustering Place of the Stallions’. What a place to hear words on the theme of light, watch the sunset then celebrate life with a good old barn dance!
Conor Whelan, this year’s Bard of Bath, aims is to celebrate the seasons and our connection to them. We are each a part of the world and have worlds and suns within us. So to celebrate Litha, the longest day, the summer solstice, poets, storytellers, musicians and dancers will gather at Kelston Roundhill, known locally as ‘The Temple of the Moon’ and to the Celts as Henstridge or ‘The Mustering Place of the Stallions’. What a place to watch the latest sun sink into the Severn valley and hear poems and stories honouring light, then celebrate being alive with a good old barn dance! Bring a picnic, your dancing shoes and your share of joy!
HOW TO GET TO THE OLD BARN:
Please note, Komedia Bath is presenting and providing a Box Office service for this event but the event will take place at the Old Barn at Kelston Roundhill, BA1 9AF. It’s accessed by a farm track off the A431, two miles west of Bath.
