IndieComedyMag LIVE: Alison Thea-Skot and Sarah Breese
Your favourite niche comedy magazine presents a night of brilliantly absurd delights. Come one, come all, for a comedy night as lovingly curated as our publication, The Independent Comedy Appreciation Society – we’ll be peddling back issues, badges, and intense comedy chat between acts.
In February we bring you Sarah Breese (“Very comfortable in the space with perky delivery.” – Chortle) and Alison Thea-Skot (“brave, silly, a little bit unhinged and very, very funny.” – Funny Women), plus a potentially thrilling bonus act or indeed acts, all tied together by our sub-editor and broadly capable compere, Pete Jones.
Sarah Breese is a mischievous ball of comedy nonsense. Since joining the circuit in 2015, Breese has been making waves on the Welsh standup scene and beyond (most recently, she’s been on the actual telly, alongside Sally Phillips in BBC Two’s Tourist Trap). Funny, excitable and engaging, her comedy is a combination of sharp observations, skewed logic, and boundless enthusiasm.
“Excellent” – The Scotsman
“A breath of fresh air” – WalesOnline.co.uk
We love her, you love her, and if you don’t know her yet then oh boy do we have a treat for you. Alison Thea-Skot had a great time in Edinburgh 2018 with her 5 star hit show Thea-Skot through the heart and you’re to blame (A high-octane solo sketch show featuring a lovelorn Oyster card), which built on the success of her previous shows Some Like It Thea-Skot and It’s Thea-Skot in Here (So Take Off All Your Clothes). Join us to witness this sizzling explosion of chaotic character comedy.
“Ingenious … An arresting spectacle” – The Scotsman
“Fun, loud and slightly bonkers … a rollicking show” – Arts Award
