FilmBath, home of Bath Film Festival presents
An unmissable event for EVERYONE interested in film, music and composition.
We invited 14 – 19 year olds to write a score for one of four short animated shorts. On 27 June we will be joined by a group of AMAZING industry judges to watch the short listed scores and decide who will the first prize of half day of mentoring at Real World Studios.
Join us to hear about judges’ experiences in the world of film composition and watch the shortlisted scores.
The judges and the audience will vote on the best score and who should win.
Natalie Holt, Ivor Novello Winner 2015 and BAFTA nominated composer, Natalie has worked on a huge range of feature films, television drama and narrative entertainment, including The Crown, Paddington, Wallander, Grand Budapest Hotel and The Honourable Woman to name a few.
Gary Yershon composes for theatre, radio, television, film and dance. In 2015 he shot to stardom when he was nominated for an Oscar for his score for Mr Turner, Gary has also composed scores for Happy-Go-Lucky and Another Year.
Brian Lock, a film and media composer who works with leading art-house directors. His scores include those for Vipère au Poing, The Portrait of a Lady, The Land Girls, The Gambler and a host of other national and international films and television programmes.
Lillian Henley has written for both contemporary film and silent films which she accompanies live at events and festivals including Bath Film Festival, the British Silent Film Festival, Barbican Centre, Fashion in Film Festival, Hoxton Hall, Cinema Museum in London.
Our host for the evening will be BBC’s own Laura Rawlings.
