Komedia Introducing… Wasuremono / Jamie Cruickshank / Ben Hutcheson
6 Music favourites, Wasuremono, are returning to Komedia Bath after their debut headline show here earlier this year. Formed in 2013 by lead singer William Southward, Wasuremono are a four piece indie/dream-pop outfit from Bradford-on-Avon. Their ever developing live show incorporates intricate guitar styles and soundscapes, four part harmonies, rhythmic drums and synths. Having released their explosive EP/album Kaboom to rave reviews from the likes of BBC6 Music’s Steve Lamacq and Lauren Laverne, expect to hear some new and unheard songs mixed into the set, with the lead up to their next official release.
“A marvellous little curio of a record” – Steve Lamacq
“What a belter. Current favourite of mine” – Lauren Laverne
Taking inspiration from folk, blues and Jimi Hendrix, Jamie’s song-writing twists together bitter-sweet stories of people, trees and mathematics. His music is both uplifting and complex. Also gnarly.
Acoustic folk rock performer Ben Hutcheson is credited for a dark, husky growl of a voice with softer tones. His unique writing style and distinctive songs are not to be missed.
With his music being described as “unique” and “beautifully different”, Ben has played with several different artists across the country, such as Saint Leonard’s Horses, Wreckage of Society, Pyra, SoulHole, Barry Walsh and more.
