Hijack International Women’s Day

As part of International Women’s Day 2019 Hijack are making a space for families to explore and talk about gender in a creative way.  Come and contribute to the campaign for gender balance across the world #BalanceforBetter.

Activities include

  • ‘She, He, Ze, Me & We’…. An interactive story installation (where the seeds of friendship grow into the trees of acceptance) with Alinah Azadeh, Leo Sedgley and Lex Titterington
  • Making ‘Ndebele’ inspired figures with Phati Mnguni
  • Creating personalised zines with Kitty Wallace
  • Dance with Jumeau, the resident DJ at Gal Pals playing music by women and non-binary people.  Expect a pop party with some wildcards thrown in, if you’re not dancing you’re not paying attention
  • Transform into a rebel icon with Gladrags
  • Explore a range of gender neutral toys, books and games with the Early Childhood Project

Join us and all these amazing artists for Hijack International Women’s Day 2019 – Come to either the morning session 10am-12noon or the afternoon session 1-3pm.

For children aged 4-11yrs and their families.

FREE (£1 booking fee). To guarantee entry tickets can be booked in advance or limited spaces will be available for drop in on the day.

Bring your own food or Komedia’s bar will be open for drinks and snacks.
