38 Degrees Live brings supporters and members of the public together for a fun, lively evening exploring the stories of local heroes and the work of leading authors, artists and innovators.
Peter Macfadyen – Author of Flatpack Democracy – the story of how a small group of people in Somerset transformed their council into being entirely independently led leading to a discussion around how Peter’s lessons could work here in Brighton.
Laura Thorne – Who, after a shock diagnois of MS, went on to become a yoga instructor to help people “appreciate themselves, others and the beautiful world we live in”.
Jo Godden – Winner of a 2016 People. Environment. Achievement. (PEA) Award, shares her experiences of running an ethical and sustainable company, RubyMoon, whilst helping women set up and grow businesses across the globe.
Peter Deadman – Co-founder of Infinity Foods and Brighton Natural Health Centre, on the state of the NHS and the dangers to it presented by an ageing population and the rise in chronic non-infectious disease. Peter will also take about encouraging people to take more responsibility for their own health through sensible diets, appropriate exercise, mindfulness and more.
To finish the evening, a very special guest, Bridgette Amofah from Rudimental, will perform a few tracks from her forthcoming debut EP for the very first time.
