Every now and then a new band emerges with music that is so far ahead of its time. One of this rare bands is Femi and The Inrhythms. Their debut CD Pressure To Pleasure takes African music to a new high. This incredible CD is described as ‘we are listening to a big band, with phenomenal harmonies, rhythm, and arrangements, as were once very popular, hegemonic even, before the advent of Hip Hop’ Rhythm Passport, January 2018

Femi and The InRhythms, a seven-piece band from Lagos, Nigeria mixes the cerebral musicality of afrobeat with the visceral grooves of funk underpinned with Yoruba-English vocal styles to create an eclectic futuristic world dance music making them one of the key bands from the contemporary African music scene. Femi and The InRhythms was formed by bassist Femi Sofela to put the heavy afrobeat into funk and jazz, music with which he built his reputation as a musician and producer.

Tonight the seven piece are joined by a cracking horn section to bring the CD Pressure To Pleasure to live audience.
