The Dryas, a self-produced trio composed of Hudd Hunter-Smith, Luke Cowie, and Connor Tagg, began their musical journey after relocating to Brighton from their hometown in Kent. The band members had previously been involved in various projects and bands since their teenage years. In 2022, the band decided to pursue their passion and launch The Dryas. In November of that year, The Dryas released their self-titled debut EP to critical acclaim, receiving support from BBC Radio 1 and BBC Introducing. The lead track, ‘Teammates’, was also featured on Amazon Music’s ‘Best New Bands’ playlist as well as E4’s Made In Chelsea.
A new 4 x track EP is set for release early in the new year (2024) with some of the tracks being featured in the new live performance while their unique blend of alternative pop and personal lyrics sets the tone for a bright future in the music industry.
Not Sarah
Not Sarah is an alt-pop powerhouse. Her eclectic blend of alternative and electronic influences are the perfect foreground for her take on pop music. Not Sarah is a Brighton based singer and producer who brings an exciting live element to her mostly electronic music on stage. “More is more” is the motto of this solo artist, who’s determined to prove pop is not a dirty word. The lovechild of Blood Orange, the 1975 and Charli XCX, she is not afraid to experiment with genre and get personal lyrically. “I make weird music for the mentally ill”.
Matisse
Matisse is the vibrant performance from Brighton-based indie dream-pop artist, Matisse Moretti. With colours transpiring from the 60s jangle, 90s shoegaze, to the present, Matisse focuses on a no-B-S attitude to songwriting giving you what they want to hear in an abundance of splashy guitars and gripping rhythmical methods yet insightful and cautious lyrics. From years of experience on the gigging circuit as frontman of indie/postpunk band FLOWVERS, Matisse has returned with a new act to be heard far and wide.
