Down the Hatch is supporting The Brighton Rainbow Fund, a central hub for community fundraising for B&H LGBTQ+ and HIV groups, organisations, charities and projects.  Funds are distributed as grants according to need, which means that there is a “level playing field”.

The Rainbow Fund also maintains TAY The Brighton AIDS Memorial, and the Hanky Quilt, and the James Ledward friendship bench in New Steine Gardens.

Since 2021 they have also facilitated the creation of The Ledward Centre, Brighton´s own LGBTQ+ community and cultural centre in Jubilee Street, a safe, social space for our LGBTQ+ community. B&H has the largest LGBTQ+ community (as a proportion of the adult population) in the UK, so can rightfully claim to be the UK´s LGBTQ+ Capital.

You can also make a donation directly to the Rainbow Fund.
