Komedia is pleased to announce that the Komedia New Comedy Award, in association with the award-winning Comic Boom Comedy Club and Arts Journalist Victoria Nangle is back for 2026!

Who’s behind it?
Komedia – repeatedly voted Best Comedy Club in the South & East by Chortle – and Comic Boom Comedy Club have been nurturing award-winning comedians from their first ever gigs to being on the TV and international tours. Victoria Nangle is an experienced well-established comedy critic working across the media.

Why should you enter?
You get to be Komedia New Act of the Year! Plus there’s a prize!

What’s the prize?
A framed winners’ certificate and a fab award to put on your mantelpiece, plus a spot at Comic Boom Comedy Club.

Who are the judges?
From all over the comedy industry.

The Semi-Finals
On Tuesdays 20tth & 27th January, and 5th February 2026, with the final on Tuesday 10th February 2026.

Applications are closed for 2026.

Applicants will only be contacted if they are offered a place in a semi-final heat. This will be by December 15th 2025. The judges’ decisions are final. Komedia may use semi-finalists’ clips, photographs and bios for promotional purposes.
