For lovers of perfectly-crafted music performed by the composer, a Heart Full of Songs concert is truly an exquisite experience.
It is only between 10cc’s sell-out, bi-annual UK tours that the band’s co-founder Graham Gouldman is able to fully indulge his Heart Full of Songs project and take it on tour.
The semi-acoustic four-piece, performing a broad range of Graham’s song-writing catalogue – including chart hits for 10cc, the Hollies, Herman’s Hermits, the Yardbirds and from his time in Wax with Andrew Gold – enjoyed their most successful tour to date last March, with the bulk of the 16 concerts sold-out in advance, including London’s 900-capacity Cadogan Hall.
The demandfor more shows was so great that six more have been squeezed into Graham’s hectic schedule, which includes 10cc tours of Australia and New Zealand, the United States and mainland Europe this year.
Prior to the March tour, the only Heart Full of Songs concerts for two years were a handful of intimate UK dates in summer 2024, to launch Graham’s latest solo album I have Notes, which features guest contributions from Ringo Starr, Brian May, Hank Marvin an Albert Lee.
Graham’s status as one of the world’s leading songwriters was acknowledged in 2014 with his induction into the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame – an arm of America’s National Academy of Music.
Previous inductees include Noel Coward, Irving Berlin, Burt Bacharach, Neil Sedaka, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Elton John, Leonard Cohen and Sting.
Support from Seb Wesson:
Having cut his teeth working with UK band Munkster Seb is also the current guitarist in the band Captain and contributor to projects such as Misdirectors, a Captain side project.
Recently Seb has been focussing on his solo writing projects which began with the Tigers EP in 2017.
This current record, the follow up to Tigers, is the sum of the last few years of creativity and collaboration, which included the lockdown, and draws from Influences such as Elliott Smith, Damien Rice, and Tom Petty.
Driving Seb’s unquestionable talent is the passion that has helped build his music CV, which opens with the London College of Music. This combination of talent and passion has positioned him in an active network of collaboration with musicians and friends. This is reflected in the record which includes input from a collection of incredible musicians like Paul Stewart and Ciaran Jeremiah from The Feeling, Iain Hornal of 10CC and ELO, Alex Yeoman from Captain, Alex Richards of Mohair as well as Sinead Quinn, Hope Winter, Stuart Wilkinson. A special vibe is achieved when superb talent and friendship combine.
In his various guises, Seb has vast live experience, from playing solo, to stripped-down folky, line-ups, and dials-fully-up rock. Opening solo for Nik Kershaw on all his Germany and Uk dates in 2023, Seb has also opened for the likes of Ash, Ocean Colour Scene, Dr. Feelgood, Biffy Clyro and Damien Rice.
