Rising From The Ashes: The Blues Volcanoes (Led by Lawrence Jones)

Featuring: Orisha Drums

A celebration of the life of Brighton’s very own bluesman: Frank Doubleday

We are sad to announce that Frank sadly passed away very recently. But would want to invite you to raise the roof with 4 Hours of non stop music.

Frank’s legendary blues band, The Blues Volcanoes, will play a non stop set of Blues, Rock and Roll, Jazz, Reggae, Soul and Dance music.

They band will be led by the man from Philadelphia – Lawrence Jones.

All proceeds will go to supporting The Clocktower Sanctuary, a Brighton and Hove based organisation who care for young homeless living on our streets.

A charity close to Frank’s heart.

What people are saying...

I love the venue and am grateful to you for having me back!

Staff were all very friendly and welcoming… the sound and lighting were brilliant and a great evening was had by all attending.

Great intimate live music venue. Not your usual gig beers, good selection of Lager, Cider and Ale.

I wanted to say a massive thank you for hosting my son and I in the Studio. I was so impressed by the kindness, efficiency, and professionalism of all the team at Komedia. Everything was perfect – the sound, the room, and all of the staff.

It was honestly the best concert experience I’ve had in a long time! Since being chronically ill, I’ve never felt completely welcome at venues. […] Komedia made me feel completely comfortable and confident in myself during the whole show! […] Although I traveled from London, I will most definitely be returning when I can, choosing it over London venues!

Lovely, intimate venue. Great sound system. Perfect for small concerts.

What a superb venue. I have been several times. Always a warm welcome and a safe space to enjoy the artists that are more “left field” than other more mainstream venues.

Cracking little venue, intimate, great acoustics, friendly staff, middle of town, nice beer selection, fair prices. What more could you want?

Great place to see bands. Not too big . Not too small. Excellent views plus TV screens in all areas. Disabled parking in the street behind. Good eateries locally after gig.

Komedia continues to have club nights that suit all ages. It is a brighton institution that should be revered.
