Chris Helme (The Seahorses)

Chris Helme, frontman of John Squire’s post-Stone Roses band The Seahorses and acclaimed solo artist, brings
an evening of Seahorses classics plus a great selection from his enviable back catalogue.

His latest LP, World of my Own, follows his critically acclaimed 2012 record The Rookery. “Echoing the fragility of Gram Parsons, while flirting with the rustic side of Neil Young” (Uncut), his “dreamy but driven indie folk” (Q Magazine), and blistering voice continue to stop audiences in their tracks.

You can expect Chris’ blend of honesty and anecdotes, following a 30-year career in the music industry, alongside his distinctive vocals and a raw, enthralling performance, that his solo shows have become known for.

What people are saying...

I love the venue and am grateful to you for having me back!

Staff were all very friendly and welcoming… the sound and lighting were brilliant and a great evening was had by all attending.

Great intimate live music venue. Not your usual gig beers, good selection of Lager, Cider and Ale.

I wanted to say a massive thank you for hosting my son and I in the Studio. I was so impressed by the kindness, efficiency, and professionalism of all the team at Komedia. Everything was perfect – the sound, the room, and all of the staff.

It was honestly the best concert experience I’ve had in a long time! Since being chronically ill, I’ve never felt completely welcome at venues. […] Komedia made me feel completely comfortable and confident in myself during the whole show! […] Although I traveled from London, I will most definitely be returning when I can, choosing it over London venues!

Lovely, intimate venue. Great sound system. Perfect for small concerts.

What a superb venue. I have been several times. Always a warm welcome and a safe space to enjoy the artists that are more “left field” than other more mainstream venues.

Cracking little venue, intimate, great acoustics, friendly staff, middle of town, nice beer selection, fair prices. What more could you want?

Great place to see bands. Not too big . Not too small. Excellent views plus TV screens in all areas. Disabled parking in the street behind. Good eateries locally after gig.

Komedia continues to have club nights that suit all ages. It is a brighton institution that should be revered.
