Haxan: A Live Folk Horror Soundtrack – The Witchcraft & Vagrancy Act

The Witchcraft and Vagrancy Act invites audiences to preview their live folk horror soundtrack to 1922’s silent horror documentary Haxan: Witchcraft Through the Ages. The Witchcraft and Vagrancy Act combines traditional music with experimental arrangements to unearth the uncanniness in folk music. TWAVA has constructed a narrative edit for Haxan for an immersive cinema experience.

The Haxan soundtrack is based around traditional English witch ballads and folklore, bringing the era’s music to life in a vivid celebration of historic entertainment and the macabre. This will be followed by a short selection of songs from The Witchcraft and Vagrancy Act’s back catalogue. Expect tales of magic, murder and misery, as TWAVA create their uniquely spooky interpretation of the folk canon.

What people are saying...

Lovely, intimate venue. Great sound system. Perfect for small concerts.

What a superb venue. I have been several times. Always a warm welcome and a safe space to enjoy the artists that are more “left field” than other more mainstream venues.

Cracking little venue, intimate, great acoustics, friendly staff, middle of town, nice beer selection, fair prices. What more could you want?

Great place to see bands. Not too big . Not too small. Excellent views plus TV screens in all areas. Disabled parking in the street behind. Good eateries locally after gig.

Komedia continues to have club nights that suit all ages. It is a brighton institution that should be revered.
