HUDSON FREEMAN + SUPPORT

Hudson Freeman is a Brooklyn-based Lofi-Folk artist, inspired and forged by the DIY midwest. Born in Waxahachie, Texas to Evangelical missionaries, Hudson started writing songs upon a radical break at the age of thirteen when his family suddenly moved from the suburbs of Dallas to The Kingdom of Eswatini. The profound influence of indie big-hitters like Sufjan Stevens and Bon Iver, as well as college years spent in Springfield, Missouri made a do-it-yourself midwesterner out of Hudson.

After graduating school and waiting out a pandemic, he headed to Brooklyn, where things really began to stick. His 2025 record, “Is A Folk Artist” is a disarmingly-distinct collection from a digital-age storyteller. It weaves issues of faith, belonging, and anxiety into a modern folk record that feels increasingly more monumental by the minute. Much like the artists who inspire him like Sufjan Stevens, Pedro the Lion, Weed (pre-hotline TNT), Hudson Freeman finds himself at a uniquely turbulent coming-of-age moment. His music is shaped by areligious upbringing, grappling with moral absolutism, fleeting friendships, and navigating a search for belonging online. Then, the riff took the world by storm. His new song “If You Know Me”drew in attention from the masses, catapulting Freeman into a wider spotlight than ever. It’s a moody blend of bedroom pop, folk, slowcore, and post-emo, stitched together by a singular guitar riff and mantra-style lyrics, confirming Hudson’s undeniable knack for melody. The demo turned barnburner “If You Know Me” sent Freeman into the spotlight, released last November with a blown out cover of The Stones’/Flying Burrito Brothers’ “WIld Horses” to boot. Earlier this year, he released a split EP, Adult Contemporary, with his friend The Bedroomer. A collaborative effort, the duo diving deeper into similar topics and sounds as Freeman continuing to hone his sound and explore life’s curiosities.
Now, nearly a year after If You Know Me changed Freeman’s life, he’s working harder than ever. Spending more time than ever on the road,2026 has seen Hudson take the stage at Luck Reunion, Newport FolkFest, opening slots for Mumford & Sons and Foxwarren, plus sold-out headline shows across the country and across the pond. Even all of that hasn’t been able to slow down the songwriter. His new album, his first with Mom+Pop, is set to release this fall.

What people are saying...

A big Thank You to Poppy, the manager, and the rest of the team at ABBA Gold last night. She was super helpful with me and my friend, who is in a wheelchair, and made it a fantastic night that we both really enjoyed. We hope to be back again soon.

As someone who works in the live music industry, I can honestly say Komedia is one of the best mid-sized venues I have visited. It has a wonderful atmosphere, outstanding acoustics, and a team that clearly knows how to run a venue. The Great Escape is always a highlight of the music calendar, and Komedia was one of the standout venues for me this year. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Brighton, whether for live music, comedy, or other events. A truly excellent venue and one of Brighton’s cultural gems.

The team working with us on Saturday were brilliant – special thanks to Steve, our engineer, who was fantastic.

I love the venue and am grateful to you for having me back!

Staff were all very friendly and welcoming… the sound and lighting were brilliant and a great evening was had by all attending.

Great intimate live music venue. Not your usual gig beers, good selection of Lager, Cider and Ale.

I wanted to say a massive thank you for hosting my son and I in the Studio. I was so impressed by the kindness, efficiency, and professionalism of all the team at Komedia. Everything was perfect – the sound, the room, and all of the staff.

It was honestly the best concert experience I’ve had in a long time! Since being chronically ill, I’ve never felt completely welcome at venues. […] Komedia made me feel completely comfortable and confident in myself during the whole show! […] Although I traveled from London, I will most definitely be returning when I can, choosing it over London venues!

Lovely, intimate venue. Great sound system. Perfect for small concerts.

What a superb venue. I have been several times. Always a warm welcome and a safe space to enjoy the artists that are more “left field” than other more mainstream venues.

Cracking little venue, intimate, great acoustics, friendly staff, middle of town, nice beer selection, fair prices. What more could you want?

Great place to see bands. Not too big . Not too small. Excellent views plus TV screens in all areas. Disabled parking in the street behind. Good eateries locally after gig.
