Michael Akadiri: Don’t Call Me Uncle!

Following two hit UK tours, Biggest Award in Comedy nominee and resident (junior) Doctor Michael Akadiri prescribes Brighton with a potent dose of his latest offering, Don’t Call Me Uncle!
Multi-award-winning comedian Michael is proud to wear many hats: doctor, husband & father. Evidently, that list does not include uncle.
Yet, despite only being in his early 30s, ‘the supremely talented and likeable’ (Metro) doctor, for the first time ever, was recently called uncle in public (a term usually reserved for elders!). This has sent him spiralling!
Join the ‘hugely entertaining’ (Chortle) Akadiri as he fights this lurid allegation, contemplates the difference between perception and reality all whilst keeping the laughs flowing with his trademark ‘sharp-wit’ (Chortle) & ‘politically punchy’ (Guardian) anecdotes.
As seen on Comedy Central LIVE, ITVs Stand Up Sketch & Channel 4’s Stand Up to Cancer.
As heard on Capital Xtra’s Breakfast Show, LBC & BBC Radio 4’s Loose Ends
Tour support for Jason Manford & Emmanuel Sonubi.
Winner – Komedia New Comedy Award
Winner – Comedian of Medicine Award, Haags Comedy Festival
Nominee – NextUp Biggest Award in Comedy

What people are saying...

A night of belly laughs guaranteed. It’s a cool venue and a credit to Brighton.

Great night out! Mild emotional damage included, would absolutely risk sitting in the front row again.

Komedia isn’t just a comedy club. It’s the sound of people forgetting everything else for a while and that’s worth showing up for.

Guaranteed good evening out. Easy to find, good selection of food and drinks, great atmosphere.

Refreshing, thought-provoking and always very funny.

It has that reputation of being one of those go-to spots where you’re pretty much guaranteed a fun evening, even if you don’t recognise the comedians on the line-up.

An evening of fun and laughs to share with my family and friends time and time again.

Remembering some great nights with some of my favourite comedians for nearly 30 years!

Mixture of new & more established comedians in a great location, well organised and a fair price.

A lively room full of big laughs, quick wit, and the kind of night out where you forget to check your phone.

Big laughs, buzzing crowds, and a fun night out with a quirky, local vibe.

The South Coast’s leading and best comedy club!
