The London Int’l Ska Festival Presents: The Pioneers

Following their sold out presentation of Horace Andy and Johnny Osbourne in March 2024, The London Int’l Ska Festival now return to Brighton Komedia with two more reggae legends… Jackie Robinson and George Dekker, who are globally, and more commonly know as, The Pioneers.

Through an incredible seven decades of releasing music and touring they have established themselves as one of the most popular reggae vocal groups in the world!

They have given us countless dance floor classics including the hits; Long Shot Kick De Bucket, Time Hard, and Jackpot, (covered by 2 Tone Records bands The Specials, The Selecter and The Beat respectively), Papa Was A Rolling Stone, Starvation, Give Me A Little Love, Reggae Fever and their Top 5 UK chart hit – Let Your Yeah Be Yeah!

The Pioneers, with Jackie and George’s exemplary vocal harmonies, never fail to deliver a sensational show.  We are honoured to be presenting what is rumoured to be their first show in Brighton!

Come join us another historic, and unmissable, night of reggae in Brighton, brought to you by the world’s original International Ska Festival, now celebrating it’s 36th anniversary year.

What people are saying...

Lovely, intimate venue. Great sound system. Perfect for small concerts.

What a superb venue. I have been several times. Always a warm welcome and a safe space to enjoy the artists that are more “left field” than other more mainstream venues.

Cracking little venue, intimate, great acoustics, friendly staff, middle of town, nice beer selection, fair prices. What more could you want?

Great place to see bands. Not too big . Not too small. Excellent views plus TV screens in all areas. Disabled parking in the street behind. Good eateries locally after gig.

Komedia continues to have club nights that suit all ages. It is a brighton institution that should be revered.
