Zelt and Tashkezar + Support

You are cordially invited to an aural indulgent feast on a November Saturday evening (the 14th) at the ever so welcoming Komedia.

We are excited to host Tashkezar and Zelt for the first time and reunite with Mazaika.

ZELT

ZELT is a London-based, Anglo-Turkish 3-piece. A SWANA-inspired, post punk/electronic chimaera. It takes in everything from acid house squelch to the twang of surf – reflecting love of artists as diverse as vintage 70s Djelimady Tounkara and early B-52s to the eardrum busting new wave electronic of Holy F*ck and Factory Floor. ZELT regularly play live shows in London and further afield.

MAZAIKA

MAZAIKA is he incredible Igor Outkine on Vocals, Accordion and his genre defying, mind blowing Midi Accordion, and versatile and virtuosic
violinist Sarah Harrison, who also brings her vocal talents to the proceedings and plays a mean Russian Domra!

Known for their dazzling virtuosity, intoxicating passion and spontaneous theatricality and humour Mazaika have spent two decades
enchanting audiences from the Cadogan Hall to the Crazy Coqs,  Glastonbury to The Green Note and far beyond. The duo ignite the stage with Gypsy fire and Tango passion, operatic melodrama and classical virtuosity plus some hot club and hillbilly mayhem! Guaranteed to transport you from the fairytale Russian Steppe to the flickering Romany campfire, from the elegance of the Concert Hall to the glitter of The Moulin Rouge.

The duo have also brought joy, romance and touch of the unexpected to hundreds of weddings, parties and special occasions. Wherever
the celebration no venue is too eccentric, no destination too remote.

Expect a unique, humorous and uplifting take on Russian Folk and Gypsy, Classical, Opera, Tango, Gypsy Jazz, Latin, Italian, French Chanson, Balkan Beat, Klezmer and evocative original material inspired by all of the above.

What people are saying...

A big Thank You to Poppy, the manager, and the rest of the team at ABBA Gold last night. She was super helpful with me and my friend, who is in a wheelchair, and made it a fantastic night that we both really enjoyed. We hope to be back again soon.

As someone who works in the live music industry, I can honestly say Komedia is one of the best mid-sized venues I have visited. It has a wonderful atmosphere, outstanding acoustics, and a team that clearly knows how to run a venue. The Great Escape is always a highlight of the music calendar, and Komedia was one of the standout venues for me this year. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Brighton, whether for live music, comedy, or other events. A truly excellent venue and one of Brighton’s cultural gems.

The team working with us on Saturday were brilliant – special thanks to Steve, our engineer, who was fantastic.

I love the venue and am grateful to you for having me back!

Staff were all very friendly and welcoming… the sound and lighting were brilliant and a great evening was had by all attending.

Great intimate live music venue. Not your usual gig beers, good selection of Lager, Cider and Ale.

I wanted to say a massive thank you for hosting my son and I in the Studio. I was so impressed by the kindness, efficiency, and professionalism of all the team at Komedia. Everything was perfect – the sound, the room, and all of the staff.

It was honestly the best concert experience I’ve had in a long time! Since being chronically ill, I’ve never felt completely welcome at venues. […] Komedia made me feel completely comfortable and confident in myself during the whole show! […] Although I traveled from London, I will most definitely be returning when I can, choosing it over London venues!

Lovely, intimate venue. Great sound system. Perfect for small concerts.

What a superb venue. I have been several times. Always a warm welcome and a safe space to enjoy the artists that are more “left field” than other more mainstream venues.

Cracking little venue, intimate, great acoustics, friendly staff, middle of town, nice beer selection, fair prices. What more could you want?

Great place to see bands. Not too big . Not too small. Excellent views plus TV screens in all areas. Disabled parking in the street behind. Good eateries locally after gig.
