Looking to learn French online? Curious about that 14th July French holiday? We may have just the thing for you!
La Komedie Francaise is a comedy night to celebrate Bastille Day (Fête nationale) and bring together the French community in Brighton.
With a mix of French and English jokes, it’s the perfect way to introduce your mates to some French culture beyond cheese & baguettes.
Your “French tutors” are:
Arielle Souma (MC)
This fabulous French-Ivorian comedian is blunt, sassy, and beloved by all! Arielle was previously nominated for a Leicester Comedy Award, shortlisted for the BBC Comedy Awards, and a finalist in the prestigious So You Think You’re Funny and Not So New Comedian of the Year competitions.
Celya AB
This dynamic Parisian stand-up and writer won the Chortle Award for Best Newcomer in 2022 and was a finalist in the Funny Women Awards too! You may know her from Live At The Apollo, Off Menu with Ed Gamble & James Acaster, or her support tours for Maria Bamford and St Vincent.
Maureen Younger
Britanique. Écrivain. Humouriste.
Ian Moore
With over 30 years of experience, Ian Moore is “one of the country’s top comedians” (The Guardian). An Englishman living in rural France, Ian is also the author of murder mysteries novels like Death and Croissants and Death and Fromage, and memoirs C’est La Vie and Vive Le Chaos. Sounds pretty French to us.
