Brighton Pride 2025 Starts Here: Komedia’s Top Picks

Brighton Pride is back – bigger, fiercer, and louder than ever. As the LGBTQ+ capital of the UK, we take Pride very seriously. And lest we forget, Pride is a protest!

Brighton Pride 2025 is set to bring a tidal wave of colour, energy, and people to the city as a weekend of ravishing rage takes place. So, whether you’re a local or just popping down for the weekend, we’ve put together our top list of events taking place here at Komedia during the 2025 Pride festivities.

But before we get to the celebrations, let’s take a look at why Pride is still such a big deal.

Why Brighton Pride

There are many, many Prides taking place all throughout the country, which is something that could only be dreamed of in the not-so-distant past (being gay was a crime in the UK until 1967).

What started with the Stonewall riots in 1960s New York, turned into worldwide marches speaking up for LGBTQIA+ rights, and has ended up becoming one of the biggest global events.

Over the years, Pride has pushed the achievements and culture of queer people into the mainstream. With LGBTQIA+ rights under attack, however, it’s more important than ever to remember that Pride is a fight for the right to legal recognition, marriage equality, healthcare access, and the ability to live an authentic life free from discrimination.

Pride in Brighton is so huge because our city is home to the largest population of LGBTQIA+ people in England & Wales!

Without further ado, let’s dig in to what we’ve got going on this Brighton Pride weekend.

The fantastically mysterious master of cabaret, Joe Black, is taking over the stage to kick off our Pride weekend in style. For one night – and one night only –Friday’s Komedia Comedy Club will turn into Komedia Kabarett Club!

Hosted by Joe Black himself, the line-up consist of international stars in drag, clowning, burlesque and more. You won’t want to miss this deviant celebration!

It’s the perfect start to a weekend of Brighton Pride, taking place on Friday 1 August. Grab your tickets now!
